Sergio & Helen fell in love with the Model 02 range but wanted to customise the layout and window placement to suit their exact requirements. Their garden room seems to have really become multi-functional. By day it is mostly used as a garden office, but in the evening it becomes something different based on the occasion. DJ decks sit beneath the front window turning the room into an outdoor bar in the summer. Whereas in the winter, the room is often used more as a luxury dining room with the large deck converting into a dining table - keeping nice and warm with the smart heater and effective insulation.
This multi-functional garden room is also a great example of painted vs non-painted OSB finish. Initially the couple wanted to go with a more industrial feel. A year later they decided they wanted to re-decorate and create a more sleek, art gallery type feel and helped to achieve this by painting both the walls and the ceiling in contrasting colours.

Hear from Sergio & Helen about their new garden room
Why did you want a new garden room?
Initially it was to give us two seperate work spaces as we both began to work from home. One inside the home and one out in the garden. The plan was to create a seperate space that added value, both to us in how we can use our home, and to the value of the house.
How has it changed things for the way you live or work?
It really has transformed how we use the home. It gives us the space away from each other during our working days and gives that seperation between home and work. But it is also so much more than just an office in the garden. In the summer it creates a totally new space, away from the house where we play music and drink wine on the furniture outside, moving inside the room as the cool summer evening draws in. In the winter, we love to host dinner parties in there. It is so warm and cosy and really make it feel like a special occasion.
Why did you choose a Fora Garden Room?
For us we wanted something that ticked all the boxes in terms of quality and had all the extras, but something that we could really tailor as our own. We have 2 beautiful silver birch trees behing our room and we wanted to bring them in. We could choose the exact size of the floor to ceiling windows and poisitioned them exactly where we wanted on the rear wall. We also tweaked the shape so that it would fit our desired layout perfectly, and changed the location and layout of the front doors. We could do also this with no premium charge which we thought was great.
And what did you think to the process?
We had our own account manager Jamie who take the time to understand exactly what we wanted, and helped guide us providing us with ideas and solutions that matched our needs. Once we decided on the perfect room for us, we were provided with a project manager Gabrio who managed every step and kept us up to date throughout the process, working an installation date around our busy schedule. The whole approach really felt flexible and tailored to us, and It was great that our last minute changes were accomodated after we had already signed-off on our design.
